What are some common problems solved with apps?

Data collection is the most common request. This is where information is collected from either staff, customers or suppliers. Usually there is a paper form involved, but not always. Paper forms are great, but they get lost, the information cannot be collated and the person filling in the form does not have to complete it properly. An app would validate the values entered into the form, make sure all questions are answered, and be immediately available for review once complete.

What if my problem is too simple?

There is no problem took simple!

For example, checklists that have to be completed regularly are a favourite of mine. When you need proof that a task has been completed, you get your staff to complete a paper-based checklist. With an app, you can also add photos as well as recording the GPS coordinates of where the form was completed. Once the checklist is completed on the app, office staff can review it straight away, no more lost paperwork or waiting for documents to be returned to the office. Examples include vehicle checks, site inspections and appraisals.

Can a Mustard app help me my quoting problems?

Absolutely! Calculators work very well. I have created apps to help tilers calculate the number of tiles needed, apps for a manufacturing company to calculate the cost of producing a part and apps that use common formulas such as Ohms law.

Is there anything Mustard won't create an app for?

With Mustard Apps, I am trying to help small businesses by producing cost effective solutions to common business problems. Therefore creating the following apps will not be considered: Dating, games, takeaway/delivery, taxi booking, social networks and complete systems.

For these types of app, you need a bespoke solution and suggest you contact Mustard Software. You will also need a considerable budget for marketing!

£750+vat seems very cheap for an app. It certainly does not cover your time. How do you make any money?

This is true, and this is why other small businesses must be able to use your app. I can charge a small annual subscription to other businesses to use your app. Mustard Apps is not about making money. It is about covering the cost of my time to create apps. Apps for businesses that cannot afford the investment of bespoke software development yet! These apps will give small businesses the competitive advantage that some of their bigger competitors have. I also love creating apps and discussing business ideas!
