The story behind Mustard Apps
Businesses are more efficient when they use computers. Computers enable rapid scaling while ensuring that your processes are followed. Good software allows staff to perform more creative tasks as the computer takes care of the mundane and repetitive ones.
Developing computer software, databases, and apps can be expensive. Small businesses don’t have the money, and Mustard Apps aims to resolve that.
Businesses share many common functions. They look for customers, take orders, process orders, collect information (documents, files, drawings), dispatch products and provide support.
These are not unique functions to your business; if you are happy to help other small businesses, then Mustard Apps can help you.

Getting to know Barry Starling
I am Barry Starling, and Mustard Apps is my project. A personal project to help as many small businesses as possible. I have been developing bespoke apps for small businesses since 2007 and set up Mustard Software Ltd to formalise this process in 2016. Before 2007, I developed software for British Nuclear Fuels, NSK-RHP Bearings, British Gas (Centrica), Welsh Water (Hyder), Greenzone Facilities Management, and Axa Insurance. I have also created games, including Jackpot Pool for Mazooma Games (now Bell Fruit) and Cubehead for Cascata Games.
Over the past 20 years, I have created well over 100 bespoke systems. Those systems have been used in many industries, including manufacturing, motorhome sales & service, warehousing, certification & testing, security, human resources, memberships, health & safety.

The process of getting your app idea live
What are the inputs?
What form does the output take?
What platform(s) does the app need to run on? Mobile, web, desktop etc.
Initial design.
You will notice that you do not need to create a specification, design the user interface or produce a test plan. I will do all that so that many businesses can use the final product.
Walkthrough and amends.
Then, I will make any changes requested by yourself.
We have lift off!
But that's not the end of the story. You will consider improvements and additional functionality as you use your new app. These can be added, sometimes with a cost, but most of the time without.

If the above conditions are met, then the process of developing the app is as follows:
There is one further condition: the app must take less than 4 weeks to develop. However, you cannot know this until you talk to me.
Don’t give up if your app idea does not fit the above conditions! Contact me, as Mustard Software will be able to create a bespoke app for you.
There are none.
You make the one-off payment of £2995+vat.
I will cover the cost of hosting and support.
If there are bugs, I will fix them.
